Constitution Day and Citizenship Day Sept. 16 at WSU
Every year on September 17, Constitution Day and Citizenship Day are observed at Washington State University and other institutions across America.
The special day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. In observance in 2011, when the 17th day of September falls on a Saturday, it is being celebrated on campus on Sept. 16.
A variety of resources for online versions of the U.S. Constitution, information about the document and its signing, and related teaching materials are found on the Government Documents page on the WSU Libraries website. The Riverpoint Library, at WSU Spokane, is featuring Constitution displays and materials for check out.
