Cougar Transfer Orientation & Professional Success (TOPS) Program
The first participants in this newest college success program for transfer students at Washington State University began classes in fall 2010 in Pullman.
Unique Opportunities

Cougar TOPS Scholars will ...
- be eligible for scholarship funding upon the successful completion of the first year of Cougar TOPS participation
- build the skills necessary to excel in academics, leadership, communication, and personal effectiveness
- receive transfer advising, career education and counseling, tutoring, and student support services
- attend academic success seminars and workshops
- work with a faculty mentor on a research, scholarship, or creative activity project
- have hands-on career advising and coaching for internships and summer job hunting.
A first-year plan for a Cougar TOPS Scholar might include a special summer orientation program, fall semester writing and exploring majors and careers courses, and spring mentored undergraduate research and career and social networking skill building.
Eligibility

Students who are eligible to be Cougar TOPS Scholars ...
- are transferring to WSU in Pullman
- have earned their Associate of Arts
(AA) degree - must be eligible for Pell Grants (for low-income students)
- must be the first generation of their family to attend college
- must complete an application and provide the name of a reference
