First-Year Focus


WSU's First-Year Focus is a university-wide, living-learning community program that increases students' engagement in the university—with their peers, courses, and faculty, and with the broader student learning goals of the university.


Meet Your Fall 2013 First-Year Focus Instructors


  • WSU's First-Year Focus was listed among "Academic Programs to Look For" in the "America's Best Colleges" online report by U.S. News & World Report (2007)
  • First-Year Focus enables freshmen to enjoy the benefits of living with other students with whom they share one or two classes
  • 80 percent of the entering first-year classes since 2005 have participated in First-Year Focus
