Disseminating Your Work
Share your findings with the academic community

Once you have completed your research, the next step is to disseminate or share it with others in your discipline and the community. After all, what good is this new knowledge if you keep it to yourself?
There are many ways to share your findings with others at the university and the broader community. The more common methods include...
- Publishing your findings in a scholarly journal
- Presenting orally at symposia
- Displaying your work at poster session
However, these are far from the only ways to disseminate your research. Depending on the nature of your work, other venues include...
- Art shows and exhibitions
- Fashion shows
- Demonstrations
- Concerts
- Theater shows
In addition to those mentioned here, there are many other creative ways to share what you have created, designed, or discovered with others. Talk to your faculty mentor to discuss what is the most appropriate method for your project. Another way to identify dissemination methods is to find similar projects, and think about how you found it; chances are it was a dissemination technique.
